I had a 2005 Ford Focus ZX5 SES trim level for almost 7 years. I was in a bad car accident in early March 2012. Back then I was looking for 2012 one in a hatchback or sedan. In late June that I ended up with a 2011 Mercury Milan. It was a little bit bigger car than the Focus. In late March 2017 that I still liked the Ford Focus, Fusion, C-Max, and the Escape. I ended up with the 2015 Ford Escape SE in silver grey. It was so easy to drive. It died on me in mid March 2022. Now I drive a 2020 Ford Escape SE in black. I even noticed the 2018 Ford Focus kind of looks liked my Ford Escape. Even when I had the 2015 one and I did felt liked driving a Ford Focus again.

My 5th grade teacher had a bright yellow one in the early 80’s as I remembered. I was 10 years old in helping her to carry something towards her car. In the early 90’s a classmate had a white one. I rode it in couple times when I was in junior college. I saw one on the showroom floor at my local Ford dealership that was in 2011. I did looked under the hood and even tried to get inside of the vehicle. It was just too small for me. I had a 2005 Ford Focus ZX5 SES when I saw that car. It kind of looked liked a smaller sized of the Focus. Now I drive a 2020 Ford Escape SE in black. I thought that little car has been dropped over the years. I liked the Ford Escort during the 90’s.

I own two beetles a 73 super beetle and a 74 standard beetle I love em so much fun to drive like a legal go kart both mine have the 1.6l dual port engines

The 8.5 exterior looks worse. It would have been ideal to just fix/update the poor user experience in the interior - and keep the exterior relatively the same.

The car already looked great. And these minor changes make it look even better. It’s like iPhone designs that slightly change every year. They are all beautiful but the subtle differences make it appear more premium

I drive a MK5 Golf which I love so much and has never disappointed me all these years I’ve owned it. A pure Gem that’s so fun to drive and good quality too.

I just replied to someone over on the official VW New Golf ad who said "Please bring this back to the USA. I've owned 3", and thought I'd repeat myself here 😀 "Actually, this ad made me realize that's never gonna happen. This style of car is pretty much dead. The MkI and MkII Golfs had a design that was loved on the outside AND super-roomy, plenty of light coming in, high-viz all around on the inside. But VW, in the name of efficiency most likely, turned the Golf into a Scirocco. And all best-selling cars copied that design... think 208s, Ibizas, Astras, Focus, Punto etc. And the interiors of all those cars slowly became too low, too dark, with a claustrophobic roof that slopes down to your face. Horrible cars to sit in if you just stop to think about. People never realized that consciously, but subconsciously I bet those are the most important reasons people slowly went for small SUVs. It's all about the Pumas and the T-Rocs now if you look at sales figures (especially in Europe). Take a look at the Honda-E's design. It's a modern-day design of the first two generations of Polos & Golfs. It flopped because of an insanely high price but reviewers went gaga for its design. It was gorgeous. THAT's the route VW should have gone down. Now compare the Honda-E to the Golf Mk8 and you'll see what I mean 😀 For context, I'm saying all this as someone whose parents had an Mk2 Golf-C for 30 years." So, to answer your question: Mk1 & Mk2 for me 😍

Evolution of Toyota Innova

The Fabia sedan (1st generation ) wasn't available in Western Europe. Now, such small sedans aren't even produced anymore, at least in Europe. The same with small station wagons. It's a pitty, because they were cute.
